2007 July
"City Mission Gospel Ministry, Inc." (abbreviated as CMGM) was officially established. The Chinese name is 《城市使命福音事工》. It is a Chinese church under the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association in the United States. The ministry was founded by Pastors Jim and Vivien Cheng, beginning with a Bible study group held in their home in San Bruno, California.
2007 October
God led us to a warehouse over 10,000 square feet in the industrial area of Potrero Hill, San Francisco, where we held our first Sunday worship service.
2008
Sunday services were relocated to a classroom in the Sunset District, primarily serving high school and college students.
2009
We signed a full-time lease for a commercial space in the Sunset District to serve local families and launched a homework tutoring program to support children in need.
2013
The church moved to St. James Church in the Visitacion Valley area of San Francisco, continuing its tutoring program to serve local children and families.
2015
Sunday worship services were relocated to Greater Life Church, also located in the Visitacion Valley area.
2016
We officially joined the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, becoming the first Chinese Foursquare Church in the Central Pacific District of California. The church was renamed "San Francisco Chinese Foursquare Church" (abbreviated as SFCFC), with the Chinese name 《城市使命四方福音會》.
2017
Sunday worship services were moved to the Seventh-day Adventist School located in the Excelsior District of San Francisco.
2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person worship services were suspended and transitioned to pre-recorded and live-streamed online gatherings.
2021
In-person Sunday worship services and other gatherings resumed, while continuing to offer live-streaming to serve the needs of various regions.
History
Our Story
San Francisco Foursquare Church was founded in 2007, dedicated to local Chinese missionary work in San Francisco, particularly serving the Chinese community living in the United States. The church upholds the mission of "Becoming people who love God and love others" through various ministries such as community connection, worship and prayer, family, youth, and children's ministries. It practices Christ's love and care within the community and spreads the message of Christ's salvation to non-believers.
城市使命四方福音會於2007年創立，致力於三藩市本地華人宣教工作，特別服侍在美國生活的華人群體。教會秉持「成為愛神愛人的人」的使命，透過多不同的事工活動，如社會關懷、敬拜禱告、家庭、職青與兒童事工等；在群體中實踐基督的愛與關懷，並向未信者傳揚基督的救恩。
